Roll Repairs and Alterations
Older calender rolls are due to their material performance and earlier production- and machining methods not up to today's standard requirements as far as their shape stability is concerned.
Older flow through systems are less efficient than those of today, an alteration for the purpose modernisation is still possible in many cases. After a longer period of operation it is advisable to consider cleaning the peripheral bore system. Only with an optimal flow through is the transfer of the required heating capacity ensured.
Older calenders can be considerably improved by modifying the calender rolls. We are in the position to noticeably optimise the capacity and productivity of existing installations by modernizing the rolls.
The following procedures help you to operate your installation more productively:
- heat treatment of the roll under simulation of operating conditions
- dynamic balancing (cold and hot)
- roll repairs and -alterations
- cleaning of the peripheral bore systems of the roll
- altering a peripherally bored roll into the s-technology (DuoTherm 200 S®)
- changing seals
