The helix which is inserted in the peripheral bores supplies the heating medium with a twisted flow which balances out the temperature loss over the complete roll width.
Rolls which have the conventional peripheral bores reach values for the radius deviation in the shape from less than 1 µm and in the temperature from less than 2°C from one to the other roll edge, these values can be halved when using the S-Technology.
This technology has a positive effect on the evenness of the thermal conditioned expansion of the roll material and thereby on the geometrical shape and the running behaviour of the roll.
